VEL308 Matting Agent Description

Low-Temperature Curing Matting Agent VEL308 for indoor powder coatings with conventional indoor 50/50 polyester resins can achieve 160°C/20min or 170°C/15min curing, and can also achieve 200°C/10min curing. It is a new cost-effective low-temperature curing matting agent.

Product Features:

Appearance: White or light yellow powder.
Softening Point: 100-125°C.
Matting Performance: Adding 4% under curing condition of 160°C/20min or 170°C/15min can obtain 5-10% G60° gloss. Adding 3% under curing condition of 200°C/10min can obtain 3% G60° gloss.
Matting Principle: Non-wax, physical reaction, no extra consumption of epoxy.
Curing Condition: 160°C/20min or 170°C/15min, best in 170°C/15min for wider polyester choices.
Coating Surface: Flat and smooth, no yellowing, non-fuming when curing, impact resistance ±50kg·cm, excellent mechanical property.
Storage Condition: 28°C/12 months.

Used in indoor powder coatings that demand lower curing temperature to reduce production costs.

Precautions of Product Use

Tested polyester resins with low film gloss under160°C/20min curing condition: Guanghua GH-1156, Xiangrong XR-5022X, Sino-French P5072, Shenjian SJ-3B.
Tested polyester resins with low film gloss under170°C/15min curingcondition: Sino-French P5072, Xiangrong XR-5022X, Zhengjie ZJ-5054, Shenjian SJ-3B, Yinyang YE-5050, Tiansong TS-5700, Guanghua GH-1156, Yochon YC-5012B.
It is recommended to conduct a small sample test before mass production.
The storage stability of powder coatings formulated with VEL308 is good, but still need to avoid high temperature environment.
