Benzoin is a colorless or white crystal. Applied in powder coating formulations, it is an ideal additive for eliminating pinhole defects in the coating film of powder coatings by eliminating air bubbles in the molten process.
Benzoin (also called phenyl benzoyl carbinol, 2-hydroxy-2-phenylacetophenone, or 2-hydroxy-1,2-diphenylethanone) is a colorless or white crystal. It is insoluble in cold water, slightly soluble in hot water and ether, soluble in ethanol. Applied in powder coating formulations, it is an ideal additive for eliminating pinhole defects in the coating film of powder coatings by eliminating air bubbles in the molten process.
